The lights go dim and all you can hear in the House of Blues is a mix of screams from the crowd and the low buzz of the amplifiers. Three massive neon squares light up as the crowd starts roaring and four silhouettes make their way on stage. The screaming is soon muddled by crisp synth chords, a hard beat, and lights, which illuminate the stage.

LIGHTS, a Canadian born singer-songwriter, has developed a cult like following in the electro-pop genre over the years. The band has silky sounds with an underlying strong beat all topped with LIGHTS’ vocals that she uses as a tool to amplify the sounds of her band. Her ability to get the crowd dancing in a trance-like state for her synth-pop hits and then shift to become an innocent and vulnerable girl singing over her acoustic guitar is unbelievably impressive.

LIGHTS’ recent album, Little Machines, came out in 2014, and has been touring since then, with this concert being her last on the tour. The album is nothing short of amazing, but doesn’t even compare to her live shows. While the tour may be over, LIGHTS true fans know that she creates acoustic versions of every one of her new albums, which is due to release in 2016. LIGHTS’ performance was full of energy and emotion with catchy-unique sounds enhanced by pure vocals and a swagger factor, which has no competition.
